DX54D+Z is a sheet-forming steel (Hot-Dip Coated family) to EN 10346 (1.0306). It has a specified 0.2 % proof stress of 140 MPa and a typical tensile strength of about 300 MPa, with a uniform elongation of 37 %. Nominal carbon content is around 0.12 %. For nonlinear FEA, a bilinear model uses E = 210 GPa up to yield and a tangent modulus of 436 MPa above it. It is a general-purpose wrought steel selected on strength, cost and availability.

History

Hot-dip metallic coating (galvanising and its zinc-alloy successors) married the formability of cold-rolled sheet to corrosion protection, making it the backbone of automotive, construction-cladding and white-goods sheet. EN 10346 defines the coated forming grades in parallel with EN 10130. DX54D is a special deep-drawing quality.
